Clearing the App Cache on Android

This guide explains how to clear an app's storage and cache on Android devices, a useful process when an app malfunctions due to data corruption. Simply removing the app does not delete its data. This method effectively resets the app to its initial "factory settings.ā€

What Happens When You Clear App Storage

When you clear an app's storage, all data saved within the app will be deleted, including:

  • Login details

  • Unsynchronized expenses and reports

  • Passcode

All other data (expenses, reports, etc.) will remain unaffected.

Steps to Clear the Appā€™s Cache

To clear the appā€™s cache, follow these steps:

  1. Open the ā€œSettingsā€ app on your Android device.

  2. Tap "Apps" or "Applications" (the exact term may vary depending on your device).

  3. Search for and select the Declaree app.

  4. Tap ā€œStorage & cacheā€.

  5. Tap ā€œClear storageā€ and confirm your choice.

iOS does not have an equivalent function for clearing an app's cache or storage directly from device settings. Simply removing the app and reinstalling the app will suffice.
