CO₂ Module

The CO₂ module in Declaree provides accurate calculations and records of a vehicle's emissions for mileage expenses. Here’s how it works and how you can use it:

Overview

  • Accurate Emission Data: By entering your vehicle's license plate number, Declaree retrieves actual emissions data for your journey through an API provided by the RDW (Rijksdienst voor het Wegverkeer, National Highway Administration).

  • Export Functionality: This data can be easily exported using the export functionality within our Datadump module.

  • Supported Vehicles: Currently, this module only supports vehicles with Dutch license plates.

How It Works

  1. Entering License Plate Number:

    • When creating a mileage expense, an additional field appears for entering and saving your vehicle's license plate number.

    • This number is also visible on the user’s profile under the "Preferences" tab if saved as the default.

  2. Privacy:

    • The entered license plate number is only visible to the user and will be obscured for other users, including managers.

  3. Displaying Emissions:

    • When added to a report, an icon will appear under each mileage expense, displaying the calculated "CO₂ emissions for this mileage."

    • If no or an invalid license plate number is provided, the CO₂ value will be shown as “NA”.

Exporting CO₂ Emissions Data

To export CO₂ emissions data, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Configuration > Import & Export.

  2. Click the “More” button.

  3. Select “Dump” from the menu.

  4. In the dialog that appears, select “Emissions” from the “Type” dropdown menu.

Additional Information

  • License Plate Field Visibility: This field is only displayed for mileage rates associated with the "driving" mode of transportation.

  • Emission Values:

    • The module primarily uses the WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure) value retrieved from the RDW's APIs. If unavailable, it uses the NEDC (New European Driving Cycle) value.

    • Other Transportation Modes:

      • Biking: 0 g per km

      • Walking: 0 g per km

      • Public transport: 20 g per km (According to data from CO₂ emission factors: CO₂ Emissiefactoren)

By following these steps, you can ensure accurate tracking and exporting of CO₂ emissions for mileage expenses in Declaree.
